Djet - Circulation

Genre: dark ambient, soundart

I place this interesting material here with some pleasure. DJET is a project of one talented and progressive russian composer and the musician. If you look my blog regularly, you will find and other works of DJET in my archives.
This EP is the mechanical and discharged circulation of two sound objects in it is artificial the created spatial premise. On motive of performances of vanguard theatre the BlackSkyWhite.

Mark note: amazing sound experimentation, unlogical and absurd substance of natural music; it must been downloaded!.

Cisfinitum - Landschaft

Genre: atmospheric dark ambient, drones

Russian composers E. Voronovsky (music, synths, tapes, drones) and A. Tzarev (sound construction and digital editing) are responsible for our 24th release, which has been previously released as CDR on the Insofar Vapour Bulk catalog in 2000.
Landschaft is an epic work of deeply emotional/dramatic drones, carrying with them the Cisfinitum trademark which successfully combines electro-acoustic sources with a wide arsenal of Soviet analog effect processors. Eugeny Voronovski is also a professional violin player, which has undoubtedly contributed to the fact that "Landschaft" is nothing short of mindbending.

Mark note: fundamental beautiful work. Do not pass it over!

The Dead Hours - Dead Girl's Waltz

Genre: neo-classical, dark ambient, drones

"Authentic masterpieces are the title-track and "And Thou Art Dead As Young As Fair". An excellent and innovative musical taste that surfaces immediately from the very first notes, and a visionary art that captures and inebriates, a fascination that does not vanish to the first lights of dawn. Flares that must be followed in the future too..." - Francesco Gentile - twilight-zone.it
"Certainly a special and succeeded album, with a nice mixture of ambient and classical sounds. Perhaps a release on Cold Meat in the future?" - Funprox
"Concluding, I can only say that people who like ambient, filmish and dark, haunting and slightly twisted, will love this album. If you're not into that kind of music, I can imagine this will be quite hard to get into. It is not a disc to play in the background, it should be listened to with attention." - Stefan Koopmanschap, electronicmusicworld.com

Mark note: very interesting album, voices and darkness; listening for full resting

Transcendent Device - Degree Absolute

Genre: dark ambient, ritual

Michael Todd aka Transcendent Device (or Marspiter on labels as Somnambulant and Foreshadow) brings us 4 deep droning fragments of nightmares. Covering mainly the lower ends of the soundspectrum, he keeps things simple but precise. With sparse though effective reverberated melodies, meshed in what could be percieved as ritualistic chanting, Transcendent Device paints a dark minimalist landscape of interesting outworldly textures.

Mark note: eternal darkness, mystic atmosphere of ritual action; very fundamental release

Darren McClure - Unmoored

Genre: glitch, noise, experimental, soundscapes, drone; dark ambient

«Darren McClure comes from Japan and brings seven pieces of introspective and spatial ambient, of the dark kind. Oddly enough, Darren's music doesn't fit the genre as we'd expect. His pieces are rather short, never getting to see the six minutes mark. They're concise, compact, everything included. In such a way that we'll come back for more, repeatedly.» - Pedro Leitão

Mark note: atmospheric, interesting work. For a pity, the tracks are too short.

Edwin Morris - The Heart Bowed Down

Genre: melodic dark ambient, transcedental, experimental soundtrack

Edwin Morris`s debut BedroomBrain release, The Heart Bowed Down, can best be described as drone-based music involving various electronic and guitar sounds. The guitar work is reminiscent (in an impressionistic sort of way) of the guitar stylings found in Angelo Badalamenti`s spooky-cool jazz compositions for our all time favorite television show, Twin Peaks.

Mark note: clear sad strings, gray mood themes, amazing sound landscapes.
Don`t pass it over.

Ian Nagoski - Warm, Coursing Blood

Genre: dark ambient, avant-garde, noise

Nagoski himself can explain his music better than I can: “I make recordings of single sounds, over and over again. Each track is slightly different but each is part of a set of that single sound. Then, rerecording that tape down a bunch of times in various mixes and at various speeds with the idea of tuning them to each other in mind onto multiple CDs, I play the CDs back together - sequentially and simultaneously - along with the source tape through a mixer, which then becomes the performance instrument. Controlling the tape speed and EQ of like sounds as I project them back into a room, I play the entire sound with equal attention to the interferences as to their related source-elements.”

Uh, yeah… whatever. I’d just say it’s gradual, buzzing, dark ambient music, and curiously, it’s a thrill to listen to.

The tracks (46 minutes) are available as 160kbps MP3s.

2. Rain - 15:23
3. The Stars Are Beautiful - 9:31
4. Joy Forever - 9:28
